There is no more event-based endgame content for WotG right now because they are only around halfway through the missions, so it will still be a couple of updates more before they introduce those events. They can drop their same normal items (i.e Velocious Belt) together with numerous new items, some of them very nice ones. These raged NMs are old Zilart NM, they are King Arthro, Guivre or Serket, but they are way more difficult than the normal versions found elsewhere. Inside that area you have 1 hour to fight a raged NM, there's 3 of them, each for an area. Sandworm is special too, and as in older FF games, he uses Doomvoid around at 25%, where he sucks everyone in the alliance up to a different special area, there are 3 areas and depending on which region did SW pop, then you get sent to that area. And the fight is a chaotic one, really fun. However if you get too close to him, he will get scared and run away to some other area. Ixion has a special trick to claim, you cannot attack him, he has no HP bar when you target him, the only way to claim it is throwing a very common item dropped by fairies in the past areas, and actually hitting him. SE usually targets the same FF userbase with each installment, either gaining or losing players along the years, so a different theme for their new mmo will definitively go for a broader userbase. With the next mmo, many people may as well do the jump, even if it doesn't have the FF brand, that would give place for the game to die at a faster rate.īut having the same theme would be a fatal blow, because unless SE manages to create an awesome system that appeals to all the FFXI detractors, then the main target would be FFXI players and ex-players. I guess people attached to the original world decided to remain in it.īut you have to take into account the differences in userbase from Lineages and EQs to FFXI. The big point is Everquest, the jump was somewhat technical as well but not from 2D to 3D, just from crappy 3D to better 3D. Well it is a really strange matter, Lineage and Lineage II are very different, Lineage II was made to make the jump into 3D, and you know how many asian players still like 2D mmos, so both games being very different managed to coexist perfectly.
